Baby Card

Howdy!

Today over at the Make My Monday challenge blog. We have a NEW challenge it's to create something For a Baby!!! Hope y'all have a chance to play along with us!

You never know when you'll need a baby card! So that is what I created today!

This card is all about die cutting and a bit of stamping. When you are creating a baby card, it is important to use pastel colors. And as I do not know who will be receiving this card, I chose to go with a neutral palette. So yes, there is pink and blue but also green and purple. And the card base is kraft cardstock.

Stamps: TAC Trendy Greetings
Paper: CTMH White Daisy, Kraft, Lilac, Glacier, Bashful, Sweet Leaf
Ink: CTMH Nutmeg
Accessories: Park Lane Woodgrain embossing folder, QuicKutz Metro Alphabet dies, Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics B

Shine On

Howdy!

Today over at the Alphabet challenge blog. We have a NEW challenge which is D - Dry Embossing!

I took the Online Card Classes Spring Card Camp 2 class. And one of the lessons was on how to do dry embossing with a stencil. I will admit that I had a bit of trouble doing this. But K Werner was so kind to give me a tip which worked for me. The tip was to use my die cut machine the same way I would with a die cut. But since there's no die cut to use a paper shim. So the sandwich I used was

PLEXI PLATE
STENCIL
CARDSTOCK
CARDSTOCK
PLEXI PLATE

After I embossed the cardstock piece I sponged white ink on top. And then I placed the die cut sentiment and bling.

Paper: Bazzill Aruba
Ink: CTMH White Daisy, Ranger Perfect Medium
Accessories: ARTplorations Broken Glass, CTMH Sliver Glitter Gems, Want2Scrap Black Rhinestones, Ranger Embossing Powder Silver Tinsel, Finger Dauber

Something Good in Every Day

Howdy!

Today over at the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog. We have a NEW Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! I chose to go for the middle column and off the middle row to the left.

For today's card I started out by die cutting and then stamping. I picked this stamp set because it only has 2 layers for each image. So I was able to create the images by using black ink for the second layer. Except for the leaves, which I did heat embossing with Gold Tinsel for the second layer. I then took the stamped and die cut floral images and laid them onto the card. Then I brought out Glad Press'n Seal and put that over 3 of the images. That made it easier to add adhesive to them. For the leaves and smaller flowers I used Liquid Glass. While the larger flowers have 3M foam tape behind them. But before attaching the flowers to the card base. I stamped the sentiment and then heat embossed with Princess Gold embossing powder. Then I placed the floral bunches on both sides and cut away the excess. And to finish the card off I masked the sentiment with Post-It note. Then splattered gold paint over the front of the card.

Stamps: CTMH Boutique Scrapbooking Day-to-Day, Altenew Peaceful Reverie
Paper: CTMH Linen
Ink: CTMH Intense Black, Peacock, Evergreen, VersaMark Dazzle Frost
Accessories: Altenew Peaceful Reverie dies, folkArt Metallic Acrylic Paint Pure Gold, Ranger Embossing Powder Princess Gold, Gold Tinsel

Howdy Y'all!

Mary Ellen here from Creative Time With ME! In the Online Card Class Spring Card Camp 2 that I am taking we were encouraged to create a card using die cuts or stamps in an unconventional way. But I needed a bit of inspiration to do that. Which is how I found this art piece on Amazon.

This is my interpretation of the piece.

You're the Best

Howdy!

Today over at the Cardz4Guys challenge blog. We have a NEW challenge which is to use this sketch.

For this card, I had to make my own silver foil paper. I have a YouTube video to share with you on how I created this card. Specifically the silver foil paper and the embossing technique.

I also cut out the sprocket which is on the bottom right of the image. This piece was die cut out of white cardstock. I then took the Pearlescent dark grey color and a paint brush to color this piece. For the motorcycle stamp that I used. It is a larger stamp than you see here. But I die cut it down to this size. I stamped the motorcycle with Distress Oxide. And then activated its properties with a water bottle. As for the sentiment I stamped that onto white cardstock and then cut it down to where it looks more like a label.

Stamps: Stampendous Motorcycle Elements, CTMH Wordfetti
Paper: CTMH White Daisy, Black, aluminum foil
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Black Soot, VersaMark Dazzle Frost, StazOn Jet Black
Accessories: Pearlescent Watercolor Set, Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets, A2 Matting Basics A, Sizzix Circles Dotted, Cuttlebug Diamond Plate, Ranger Embossing Powder Clear

Hello Wonderfully Mad Hatter

Howdy!

I am so excited because today is my start as a Design Team member of the Alphabet Challenge Blog team. The  new challenge is to create with Checks as patterned paper or a stamp.

For me, I chose to create my own background paper using a stencil. This helped to carry out the mad theme throughout the card which includes the patterns in the die cuts. And of course the image I chose. The coloring of the hatter was done with alcohol markers. And the mushrooms were stamped with a light ink color. Then I used colored pencils on them. I created some Post-It masks for the mushrooms and the hatter. After which I created the scene using homemade stencils.

Stamps: TGF Wonderland
Paper: CTMH White Daisy
Ink: CTMH Intense Black, Almond, Peacock, Charcoal, Fern
Accessories: Visible Image Distorted Chess stencil, homemade stencil (MFT Grassy Edges, SU! Rainbow Builder Framelits), Prismacolor Premier Pumpkin Orange, Cadmium Orange Hue, Hot Pink, Neon Pink, 10% French Grey, Aquamarine, Light Aqua, Cobalt Turquoise, Apple Green, Spring Green, Imperial Violet, Dioxazine Purple Hue, Amazon makeup brush, Shin Han R11 Carmine, BG61 Peacock Green, B68 Turquoise Blue, R5 Cherry Pink, Spectrum Noir Triblend Dark Red, Coral, Orange, Ice Grey, Ice Blue, Blue Turquoise, Fair Skin, Tim Holtz Stitched Circles, Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics B, Fantastix, CTMH Round Sponge

Howdy!

I hope y'all can play along with us at the Rainbow Card Challenge!

We have a fun challenge for this month to use the Vivaciously Violet in your card making

For this card, I opted out of coloring the stamps. And went for an emboss resist technique. So, I did heat emboss them. And then went into blending my card base with a variety of distress inks. When that was done I sprayed a bit of water onto the card and then dabbed it up. Do you like how it turned out?
