Shine On

Howdy!

Today over at the Alphabet challenge blog. We have a NEW challenge which is D - Dry Embossing!

I took the Online Card Classes Spring Card Camp 2 class. And one of the lessons was on how to do dry embossing with a stencil. I will admit that I had a bit of trouble doing this. But K Werner was so kind to give me a tip which worked for me. The tip was to use my die cut machine the same way I would with a die cut. But since there's no die cut to use a paper shim. So the sandwich I used was

PLEXI PLATE
STENCIL
CARDSTOCK
CARDSTOCK
PLEXI PLATE

After I embossed the cardstock piece I sponged white ink on top. And then I placed the die cut sentiment and bling.

Paper: Bazzill Aruba
Ink: CTMH White Daisy, Ranger Perfect Medium
Accessories: ARTplorations Broken Glass, CTMH Sliver Glitter Gems, Want2Scrap Black Rhinestones, Ranger Embossing Powder Silver Tinsel, Finger Dauber

Inspired by Artwork

Howdy Y'all!

Mary Ellen here from Creative Time With ME! In the Online Card Class Spring Card Camp 2 that I am taking we were encouraged to create a card using die cuts or stamps in an unconventional way. But I needed a bit of inspiration to do that. Which is how I found this art piece on Amazon.

This is my interpretation of the piece.

Paper: CTMH White Daisy, Black, Pewter, Juniper, Glacier, Goldrush, Canary
Accessories: Bic Mark-it Ultra Fine Point Tuxedo Black, Spellbinders Nested Pennants, QuicKutz Nesting Circles

I have created a video to share with you on how I created this card!

Supplies used (not listed under the card picture)
Tim Holtz Scissors & Snips - Kushgrip Non-Stick Serrated Scissors Mini Snips 5"
Fiskars 12 Inch Portable Rotary Paper Trimmer
Ad Tech Crafter's Tape

Some of the products used are no longer available. But here are similar items you can find in the Dies R Us site.

Love at Home

Howdy!

Today's card was inspired by the Spring Card Camp class. That, I've been taking through Online Card Classes. The most recent lesson was Stencil Shading! I went with Stencil Shading + Vintage Twist.

My husband said it reminded him of wallpaper that was in his childhood home.

I love the sentiment on this card. There is a song by this title that we sing at Church. Here is a video you can watch if you would like.

Stamps: CTMH Home Sweet Home
Paper: CTMH White Daisy
Ink: CTMH Nutmeg, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Scattered Straw, Spun Sugar, Antique Linen
Accessories: Tim Holtz Lace Stencil, Amazon makeup brush

You're a Gem Happy Mother's Day 2020

Howdy!

Today's card was inspired by the Spring Card Camp class. That, I've been taking through Online Card Classes. The most recent lesson was to Make a Statement with Sentiments! I went with the Big, Bold Sentiments part of the lesson. The main message of this card is Happy Mother's Day! And I added a couple of sentiment stamps to create a full statement. For the "You're a Gem" part, I fussy cut that one out. And for the "I Adore You", that is cut using my paper trimmer. For the background of the card, I took a stencil and went with a gradient pink color.

Stamps: Altenew Cross Stitch Flower, C9 Gem Turnabout
Paper: CTMH White Daisy, Black
Ink: CTMH Intense Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral
Accessories: ARTplorations Rows of Hearts, Kat Scrappiness Happy Mother's Day Diem Amazon makeup brush
