Broken Stenciled Wings

Howdy!

I hope y'all can play along with us at the Make My Monday challenge blog! The challenge for this period is to make something Using A Stencil!

For today's card I started out by bringing out my stencil. And then two ink pads, Carolina (it's the lighter blue) and Bluebird (the darker blue). I stenciled the feather with the light blue. Then placed another stencil over the top and applied the darker blue ink. This creates a wonderful effect. Next, I die cut the white cardstock and cut it down to a size smaller then the card base. After that I took a scrap of cardstock and stamped the sentiment. Then I cut the sentiment piece. Finally I popped the sentiment up with 3M foam tape.

Stamps: Visible Image Learn to Fly Again
Paper: CTMH White Daisy, Bluebird
Ink: CTMH Intense Black, Bluebird, Carolina
Accessories: Amazon makeup brush, Jenni Bowlin Studio Feathers stencil, Spellbinders A2 B Mtting Basics, Hexagons

Find Beauty in Chaos

Howdy!

I hope y'all can play along with us at the Alphabet Challenge blog. This week's challenge is F is for Flora or Fauna. And in the chase of this card F is also for Feathers 😉

For today's card, I started by stamping the sentiment in black. I then stamped the sentiment with watermark ink. And then I put gold embossing powder over the sentiment. As I didn't separate the stamp, I brushed off gold embossing powder from the areas I didn't want it in. Then I placed a paper mask over it. Next I used a variety of inks to stamp the feathers. I then removed the mask. And to complete the card, I splattered gold acrylic paint onto it. (If you wish to see how I splatter paint. Please check out THIS video.)

Stamps: STAMPlorations Beauty in Chaos, Art-C Small Feathers
Paper: CTMH White Daisy
Ink: CTMH Intense Black, Pacifica, Poppy, Sapphire, Paprika, Peacock, Raspberry, Bluebird, Sangria, VersaMark Watermark Stamp Pad
Accessories: Ranger Embossing Powder Princess Gold, FolkArt Metallic Acrylic Paint Pure Gold

Rotting Flowers

Howdy!

My name is Mary Ellen Driggs and my blog is Creative Time With M.E.

I have had such a fun time being a guest designer for the Clever Dexter blog this month!

This month's challenge Sponsor is Oddball Stamps. And the challenge for this month is Beach Bum.

As guest designer I was able to play with the Creepy Cute Big Eye Hula Girl Spooky Sue Image No. 247 from Oddball Stamps! With this stamp set you get a couple of images. My previous post showcased the hula girl image. For this post, we will focus on the other images in this set.

This card is slightly shorter than an A2 sized card. I printed the stamp set out a couple of times and then fussy cut out the skulls. Then I took my Sharpie marker to doodle on top of the skulls. And finally I colored in the flowers on the skulls using a pink alcohol marker. I then used that pink marker to color the flowers inside the word FLOWERS to create a cohesive look. As for the word ROTTING, I used a red alcohol marker to color the word. For the top of the card, I took a scrap of white cardstock. Then I blended in some distress ink and sprinkled water to activate the ink. Next, I took that scrap and a border punch to create the dripping blood look and glued that to the top of the card.

Stamps: Oddball Stamps Creepy Cute Big Eye Hula Girl Spooky Sue Image No. 247
Paper: CTMH White Daisy
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Fired Brick
Accessories: Amazon makeup brush, Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch, Sharpie Twin Tip, Copic W2 Warm Gray No. 2, Spectrum Noir TriBlend Bright Pink Blend, Dark Red Blend

Today - Dr. Seuss

Howdy!

Today over at the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog. We have a NEW challenge which is to be inspired by this picture!

The colors that I saw in this picture that inspired me are the shades of pink and the blue of the water in the pool. I created this card by bringing out my stencil and distress inks. I applied the inks using a makeup brush. Then I used a water bottle to activate the properties of the distress inks. I then die cut the circles for the sentiment. When I put the card together. I thought that the card was missing something. So I chose to splatter paint onto the card. (If you wish to see how I splatter paint. This video has that technique.)

Stamps: CTMH You Are My Happy
Paper: CTMH White Daisy, Bazzill Aruba
Ink: CTMH Intense Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral
Accessories: M. Graham & Co Acrylic Ivory Black, Altenew Broken Chevron stencil, Tim Holtz Stitched Circles, QuicKutz Nesting Circles
