Handmade Love

Howdy!

I created today's card for the Paper Smooches blog. The challenge this week is Anything Goes. It is also a way to enter the Design Team call.

I love this card as it reminds me of when I was a girl. Back then I did a lot of cross stitching. And a bit of small hand sewing projects. My mother taught me to do those types of projects. As back in her home country of the Philippines, she was a seamstress. Although, she doesn't know how to use a sewing machine, but she can do many sewing projects by hand. In fact, she tailored my wedding dress train by hand.

Stamps: Paper Smooches In Stitches

Celebrate Rockstar

Howdy!

For today's card, I took inspiration from the Featured Stamper over on SplitcoastStampers.

This week's Featured Stamper is Suzstamps. Her card that inspired me is HERE. Isn't it a beauty?!?

When inspired by the Featured Stamper, you are encouraged to emulate one of their cards . If you do this, it is best to provide information on what differentiates your cards.

For my card, I changed the background from red to an embossed and brusho'd blue background. I kept the star element and the guitar. But I colored and fuzzy cut my guitar. I also applied some Gold Shimmer Brush to the handle of the guitar to add a bit of shimmer.

This is a close up of that shimmer.

And here is the card in all its glory.

Stamps: Stampin' Up Fete épique, The Angel Company Trendy Greetings

Dance Your Little Heart Out

Howdy y'all!

I created today's card for the House-Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge. The challenge this week is Anything Goes. It is also a way to enter the Design Team call.

This is what the card looks like on my desk, before it gets cropped for a more Instagram ready look. I have included that image below, too.

Stamps: House Mouse Designs Twinkle Toes, The Angel Company Twinkle Toes
Paper: CTMH Gimme Some Sugar Bulk, Strathmore Bristol Vellum Surface
Paper Size: A2
Ink: CTMH Intense Black, Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers
Accessories: Cheer & Co Black Doilies, QuicKutz Nesting Circles, Spectrum Noir TriBlend Bright Pink Blend, Blender, Hydrangea Blend, Gold Brown Blend

As a little girl, I would watch the Nutcracker. Watching those beautiful and talented dancers, made me wish I could be one someday.  And this House Mouse stamp makes me think that even little girl mice, dream of being ballerinas.

To create this look, I stamped the image on a Post-It Note and cardstock. For the Post-It, I cut it out and used it as a mask, so I could brush the Peacock Feathers over the cardstock. And for the image stamped on the cardstock, I used Spectrum Noir TriBlend markers to color it.
