October Rainbow Card Challenge 2020

Howdy!

Today over at the Rainbow Card Challenge Blog. We have a NEW challenge! That is to use Smoky Slate in your monochromatic card.

This is my card for the challenge! What do y'all think?

Stamps: TE Labels of Love II, Art Impressions More Candy
Paper: CTMH White Daisy
Ink: CTMH Intense Black
Accessories: Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil, Dylusions Ink Spray Slate Grey, Prismacolor Premier 70% Warm Grey, 50% Warm Grey, 30% Warm Grey, 90% Warm Grey, Beige, Light Peach, Pink Rose, Carmine Red, Orange, Pumpkin Orange, Recollections Halloween, Fun Flock Plain Ol' Black

For this card, I used a stencil and some ink spray to create the background. And for my cute spider, I stamped her out. Then I colored her in with my colored pencils. Once the coloring was complete. I then blended out the pencils using baby oil and my Fantastix.

As for the embellishment next to my sentiment. I created that too. I used a die cut spider that I have. I also used my Xyron machine twice. By doing this I was able to put the fun flock on easier and to make my spider into a sticker.

My Start in Cardmaking

Howdy Y'all!

Today I am participating in

We are sharing stories of what Inkspired us to start cardmaking. For me, it was my first card. It was my wedding invitation.

The challenge was to CASE our first card. For me this was a bit tough since my first card was made 19 years ago. And I know when I was creating this bundle of cards we
couldn't find this exact paper. You see my MIL only had a finite amount of that specific patterned cardstock. So we wound up using 2 more cardstocks that were the same shade as the swirly cranberry cardstock. Also this was way back when you had to go to the scrapbook store to borrow time on their die cut machine. Now, I could have done that since my in-laws owned the scrapbook store the supplies came from. And I know my MIL still has that machine and those die cuts. But we are currently social distancing. As for the printing which was on this first card. That was done at a print shop. They printed the invitation on vellum. And then our picture and names were printed on some white cardstock.

So instead I chose to take inspiration from my first card.

Paper: CTMH White Daisy, Black, Bazzill Basics Vellum Sheets, Yupo Medium Paper Pad 7"X7"
Ink: Pinata Rich Gold, T-Rex Inks Alcohol Ink Set, Brea Reese Alcohol Ink Art Kit, Ranger Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Poppyfield, Red Pepper
Accessories: Ecstasy Crafts Multi Frame Heart Dies, CTMH Love die, Stampin' Up! Amazing You die, Kelly Green Dew Drops

I have a video to share with you on how I created this card!

The next person on the hop is Christi

June Rainbow Card Challenge 2020

Howdy!

I hope y'all can play along with us at the Rainbow Card Challenge! Also this month y'all have the opportunity to try out for the Design Team!!! All you have to do is enter this month's challenge. There are more details included in the post.

The challenge for this month is to create a Pastel Rainbow.

For my card I took a stencil from Scrapbook.com and turned it at an angle. This creates the look of rain falling. I then masked out a section per color using Post-It notes. After I applied the inks to the stencil and the look was complete. I then stamped the sentiment and did the steps for heat embossing it. I think the sentiment combined with the rainbow colored rain creates a fun look.

Stamps: Visible Image Sparkle in the Rain
Paper: CTMH White Daisy
Ink: CTMH Mint, Lilac, Lemonade, Peach
Accessories: Scrapbook.com Dashed stencil, Ranger Embossing Powder Princess Gold

May Rainbow Card Challenge 2020

Howdy!

I hope y'all can play along with us at the Rainbow Card Challenge!

We have a fun challenge for this month to use the Vivaciously Violet in your card making

For this card, I opted out of coloring the stamps. And went for an emboss resist technique. So, I did heat emboss them. And then went into blending my card base with a variety of distress inks. When that was done I sprayed a bit of water onto the card and then dabbed it up. Do you like how it turned out?

Stamps: CTMH Love Blossoms
Paper: CTMH White Daisy
Ink: Versamark Dazzle Frost, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord
Accessories: Ranger Embossing Powder White, Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer, Amazon makeup brushes

You Amaze Me

Howdy!

Today over at the Make My Monday challenge blog. We have a NEW challenge it's to create something Spring Flowers.

I had a lot of fun creating today's card. It's been a bit since I've done triple step stamping. The important trick to this type of stamping is layering your stamps. I use the We R Memory Stamp Press. It comes with a platform and a plexi sheet to place your stamps on. You can buy extra plexi sheets. Which is what I do. I actually have 2 Stamp Presses and an extra plexi sheet.

So I start the process of triple stamping by placing the largest of the layer stamps onto my cardbase. Then I press the plexi sheet on top, which mounts the largest stamp. I then take the medium sized stamp and place it on top of the plexi sheet right where it is set for layering the stamps. Next, I continue the steps for placement until all the stamps are set up.

Today's card is also being entered into the following challenges:
The Paper Girls CHALLENGE /#197 - Florals
Try It On Tuesday Beauty of Nature - Flowers are my favorite part about nature
Wednesday's Creative Inspirations April Challenge - April Showers & Flowers!

Howdy!

Tropical Seashell

Howdy!

Today over at the Make My Monday challenge blog. We have a NEW challenge it's to create something Tropical.

Today's card is also being entered into the following challenges:
Challenge #3 - Anything Goes Mixed Media Creative Challenge at We Love 2 Create at Polkadoodles
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge C #128
Dare 2B Artzy March Challenge: Anything Goes

Hope y'all have a chance to play along with us!

For today's card, I started out by grabbing some watercolor paper. I stamped the image down with embossing ink. Then I applied the Blush Pearl embossing powder and heat embossing. I prefer to heat emboss whenever I play with watercolor techniques and stamping. The darker areas on the seashell are where I colored with the real brush pen. And then I used my water brush to spread the color out. The sentiment was die cut out of some papers from my scrap pile. Before die cutting the word. I ran the cardstock through my Xyron. That is because when it comes to intricate or detailed die cuts. I prefer to have them already be sticky, rather than applying adhesive to the back. Then I put the card together, by gluing the watercolor paper to my card base. Next, I brought out some hemp twine. And to curl the twine, I wrapped it around my water brush.

The seashell is my day 15 coloring. I have been playing along with The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge. Have you? I would have to say  it's been great motivation.

Stamps: CTMH Shell Sentiments
Paper: CTMH White Daisy, Canson Watercolor XL
Ink: Ranger Letter It Embossing Ink Pad
Accessories: Lil' Inker Designs Hawaiian Words, Arteza Real Brush Pens Peony Pink, water brush, Ranger Embossing Powder Blush Pearl

Love in Stitches

Howdy!

Today's card is being entered into the following challenges:
Paper Smooches Anything Goes
Simon Says: Something Feminine
AAA Cards CAS Game #160 - Maxi White Space + optional twist Metallic

For this card I started out by die cutting the frame for the needle point work to go inside of. To create dimension I cut that out four times. Once, with the wood veneer and the other times with white cardstock. Before die cutting, I ran all four sheets through my Xyron. That makes it easier on me because I don't have to fuss with gluing the pieces together afterwards. I pulled off the part that reveals the sticky side for the wood veneer. Then placed that on top of the first white cardstock and followed that step with the second and third piece. As for the bottom piece of cardstock I didn't detach the part to reveal the sticky side until I was done with my card. But I did place it over the card to get an idea of where I wanted it.

Then, I began my stamp layering process. Which is made and easy with the use of my We R Precision Press Advanced. So what I did was laid the first stamp on top of the card base. Then I had that attached to the first glass mat. Then I laid the next stamp on top of that and applied it to the next mat. This system helps me with things like multiple step stamping too. After that was all done.

Then I realized that I wanted to show off that it was "needlepoint" by stamping the little needle. And I heat embossed that. Then I stamped the little string part right on top of it. But since it was already heat embossed. The ink didn't stick to the heat embossed part, just the remaining cardstock. I then applied the die cut wood veneer frame by detaching the last part which revealed the sticky side.

Paper: CTMH White Daisy, ARC Crafts BARC Wood White Birch
Ink: CTMH Bashful, Candy Apple, Tsukineko Galaxy Gold
