Howdy y'all!

This Month's Theme Challenge is: JUST BECAUSE

For this Month's Theme Colors, we have :

The challenge runs from February 1 to February 28!

I was so happy to get a chance to play with Sweet Little Red Riding Hood!

For my card, I started out by printing the image. Onto some white cardstock and removable sticker paper. Then I fussy cut the sticker paper to create a mask for the image. Once the mask was on, I brought out some stencils. For the ground I used Simon Says Stamp Grassy Edges with Evergreen ink. After that I brought out Trinity Stamps Layered Birch Stencils. Which I applied Espresso, Toffee, and VersaFine Clair Pinecone ink to create the scene. As for the sky and moon, I used Homemade Stencils along with Sapphire and Pacifica ink. The girls coloring is Ohuhu markers, Uniball Signo White, and ARTEZA Inkonic Fineliners.

Dachshund Your Birthday

Howdy!

Today's card is being entered  into these challenges:
A Blog Named Hero - Birthday Challenge
AAA Birthday Card Challenges - Game #10 Cute
Time Out Challenges - Challenge #155.
Use the quote - "It's your birthday, so party and throw acts of kindness around like confetti!"
#SSSIGCHALLENGE - Which is Simon Says Stamp Challenges on Instagram. This month's challenge is to create birthday cards.
Spectrum Noir Creative Community (on Facebook) challenge - which is birthdays

Stamps: Hero Arts Holiday Dachshund, Messages
Ink: CTMH Intense Black
Accessories: Spectrum Noir Triblend Earth Brown, Brown Grey, Jade Green, Coral, Dark Red, Bright Pink, Purple

My inspiration for the card. And one of the lights of my life is my sweet girl Samantha. She's a very sweet girl unless she has a toy or is playing with one of our other dogs. Then she's a real terror. Also, it's quite hard to get a good picture of her. Because when they were coming up with Vantablack, aka the blackest black. They must of used her as a reference, LOL. When we go downstairs at night, with the lights out. We find her by looking for the black hole looking area. But, I wouldn't go putting anything on her back. Well except for a dog toy or treat.

Your Time to Shine

Howdy!

I created today's card for the Simon Says Stamp blog challenge. Also, it's my early birthday present to myself! The challenge over at SSS is Stars. When the subject of stars comes up, my mind goes to where they come from which is the galaxy. So that is where the inspiration for this card came from.

Paper: CTMH White Daisy, Vellum
Ink: VersaMark Dazzle FrostDylusions Ink Spray Vibrant TurquoiseBlack MarbleCrushed GrapeWhite LinenPure Sunshine, Art Anthology Juicy, Perfect Pearl Mists Perfect Pearl

For this card, I decided to use my favorite technique for making galaxies. And that is to use Dylusions Spray Inks. A complete list of the supplies is under the picture. The list, contains compensated affiliate links. If you wish to create a similar card. There is no cost to you for using the links. But it does provide funds to help continue this blog.

As for the white splatter, I used some Acrylic paint. In the past, I have used White Daisy ink for the splatter. But I decided to change things up for today's card. I applied the paint using a toothbrush. First, I sprayed the toothbrush with water. Next, I dabbed some paint onto the toothbrush. Then, I flicked the toothbrush using my finger. I did this until I was happy with the look on the card front.

I also realized that I wanted to place a sentiment on the card. But, I didn't want to detract from the beautiful galaxy image. So I chose to stamp my sentiment onto some vellum. Vellum is beautiful, but can be a hard surface for sticking things down. At least if you wish to hide the adhesive. For my sentiment, I chose to cut a piece wider than the image on my card. I then used washi tape to stick the image on the back. And then I used foam adhesive to pop the card front up a bit.
