Your Time to Shine

Howdy!

I created today's card for the Simon Says Stamp blog challenge. Also, it's my early birthday present to myself! The challenge over at SSS is Stars. When the subject of stars comes up, my mind goes to where they come from which is the galaxy. So that is where the inspiration for this card came from.

For this card, I decided to use my favorite technique for making galaxies. And that is to use Dylusions Spray Inks. A complete list of the supplies is under the picture. The list, contains compensated affiliate links. If you wish to create a similar card. There is no cost to you for using the links. But it does provide funds to help continue this blog.

As for the white splatter, I used some Acrylic paint. In the past, I have used White Daisy ink for the splatter. But I decided to change things up for today's card. I applied the paint using a toothbrush. First, I sprayed the toothbrush with water. Next, I dabbed some paint onto the toothbrush. Then, I flicked the toothbrush using my finger. I did this until I was happy with the look on the card front.

I also realized that I wanted to place a sentiment on the card. But, I didn't want to detract from the beautiful galaxy image. So I chose to stamp my sentiment onto some vellum. Vellum is beautiful, but can be a hard surface for sticking things down. At least if you wish to hide the adhesive. For my sentiment, I chose to cut a piece wider than the image on my card. I then used washi tape to stick the image on the back. And then I used foam adhesive to pop the card front up a bit.

Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Crafting,

M.E.
