Howdy!
Mary Ellen Driggs here from Creative Time With M.E.!It my honor to be a guest designer for Clever Dexter this month!
Don't forget this month's challenge Sponsor is Stampers Delights! And the challenge is ...
- I started this card by printing it on both cardstock and masking paper
- Then I used my fussy cutting scissors on the masking paper
- Next, I applied the masks to the card front.
- After that I doodled out where I wanted the background.
- I achieved the look by using Post-Its as masks/stencils
- Then I brought out Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Oxide
- The ocean and the sand are done in Distress ink
- As for the coral reef that is done with Distress Oxide
- The rays of light were done after I blended the colors of blue ink to create the look of the ocean
- To create the rays of light. I started out with a stencil
- Once the stencil was in place.
- I brought out the white ink and applied it over the top of the stencil
- After that I removed the masks from the images and started to color
- The fish is done with colored pencil and the mermaid is done with alcohol markers.
- I then preceded to take a Distress Crayon and draw a few under water plants.
- And to complete this piece, I used a pen to draw the white lines on my mermaid
