To color in this stamp I used distress crayons in the colors Chipped Sapphire and Peeled Paint. I then spritzed water onto the stamp. Then I stamped it onto watercolor paper. Next, I mounted the watercolor paper onto Black cardstock. And then I wrapped black and white bakers twine around it. After that I used 3M foam tape to place the piece onto the cardbase. Then I used Post-It tape to cover that piece up. Next I brought out gold paint, a toothbrush, and water bottle to flick the paint onto the cardbase. Finally, I stamped the sentiment and mounted it onto a Candy Apple scrap.

Today's card is being entered into the following challenges:
#SSSIGCHALLENGE- Spring Has Sprung
PBSC March - Anything Goes...Optional 'Think Spring'...More Inspiration!
The Library Challenge 56 - Egg Drop

Image result for egg drop mini grey

For today's card, I stamped the center chick onto both the cardstock and a Post-It. Then I fussy cut the image on the Post-It to create a mask. When that was done, I placed the mask over the center chick. And then I stamped to the left and right of the chick. Then I removed the mask and brought out my colored pencils. I started out by coloring the beak and feet of the chicks. Then I blended the colors in using baby oil on a Fantastix stick. I then moved onto the coloring of the center chick. First, I colored the chick all over. Then I traced with a darker shaded pencil along the body and center of the image. I then drew a couple of chicken tufts. This was done by drawing a V around portions of the body, this mimicked the image of the chick. And finally, I blended the color out using baby oil and a Fantastix. Then I repeated those steps for the other 2 chicks.

This is my Day 2 of playing with The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

To create cards with lots of coloring, especially with alcohol markers. I start out by having a piece for the front of the card. And then a card base. I do all my stamping and coloring on the first piece of cardstock and then when I'm done I glue it onto the card base.

Happy Birthday Gifts

Howdy!

Today's card is being entered into the following challenges:
Penny Black Saturday Challenge PBSC February - Anything Goes...Optional 'Love is in the 'Air'...More Inspiration!
CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #359 - Sketch
Less is More Challenge #414 - Big and Small
Penny Black and More Challenge March - Spring Flowers

To create this card. I started out by stamping both on the card and on a Post-It. I took the stamped image on the Post-It to create a mask. I also took some copy paper and cut it down to A2 card size. After that I took the copy paper to create a mask by die cutting a circle out. I then used the Post-It note mask to cover up the mice on the cardstock. And then put the copy paper mask over the cardstock. I then brought out my makeup brush and Lemonade ink. Once the ink blending was done. I then uncovered the mice and colored them with my markers. After that I stamped the sentiment onto some white cardstock and then cut it out. I then put it over some black cardstock and hand cut that out to create the banner backing. Then I took some red cardstock scrap paper and die cut a heart.

But before I put the card together. I dropped some liquid right above the coloring. Thankfully, it didn't ruin my coloring job. But it did leave a mark on the card. So I used the same circle die that I used for the mask to cut out the blended area. And then I glued that down onto my new card. Then I followed that up by attaching the heart die and the sentiment piece.

Also, I am taking part in The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge.

Happy Mousy Birthday

Howdy!

Today's card is being entered  into these challenges:
#SSSIGCHALLENGE - Which is Simon Says Stamp Challenges on Instagram. This month's challenge is to create birthday cards.
Spectrum Noir Creative Community (on Facebook) challenge - which is birthdays
AAA Birthday Card Challenges - which is Cute (birthday cards)
Penny Black and More Challenge - February's challenge is Animals, Birds, and Butterflies

I enjoy using the Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers because when I'm coloring this card. I can pull out my marker. And it not only provides me with the lightest color, but I also get the darkest and medium shade of that same color. Which streamlines my ink blending.

Floral Postcard

Howdy!

Today's card was created for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog. They are looking for new Design Team members. I hope I make it onto the team!

I created this card using the masking technique and heat embossing. I also was able to use my husband's birthday present to me. For my birthday he gave me a full set of Arteza Real Brush Pens! They even came with a traveling bag, so I can take them with me on vacations and crops! I did the heat embossing to try to keep the watercolor colors from straying too far from my stamped image. Also, I left it without a sentiment on the front so I can use it whenever I need to.

I started out this card by stamping one of the rows of flowers onto some Post-It tape. I then fussy cut that out. Then I stamped the image onto the watercolor paper. After which I placed the mask over that image and then used the Postcard stamp. At that point, I realized I wanted the flowers to be fuller. So I left the mask on the first row of flowers. And stamped the second row under that. In the middle of each stamping step, I heat embossed before moving onto the next stamp. You don't need to do the embossing step if you aren't worried about the watercolors spreading.

As for the coloring, I used the red marker. And colored the middle of each flower bud. Then I used my paint brush to spread that out and thin out the color a bit. Once, the flowers were dry. I then moved onto using the green marker to draw a line where the edge of the leaves meets the flowers. I then followed that up by using my paint brush to move the color up to the end of the leaves.

Stamps: Penny Black Postcard, Rose Edging
Paper: CTMH Black, Canson XL Watercolor
Ink: CTMH Intense Black
Accessories: Arteza Real Brush Pens Currant Red, Moss Green, Ranger Embossing Powder Clear
