Sending Hedgehugs - July Collected Crafty Collabs

Howdy y'all!

Today's card is for the Collected Crafty Collabs Hop! Which is a Monthly Themed Hop For Supplies You've Squirreled Away! We are part of the Handmade Happiness group on Facebook. Which is a great community of paper crafters of all styles. Handmade Happiness also has a mentorship program.

This month's theme is Outdoors and/or Patterned Paper.

I was inspired to do a bit of paper piecing. The stamps I used are from a collaboration between La-La Land Crafts and The Hedgehog Hollow. It is from the August 2018 Box, which I bought as a One Off. For the piece I stamped the hedgehog a few times onto scraps of paper. Then I fussy cut out the sections I needed.

For this card, I used Impression Obsession's Sock Bunny stamp set.

This stamp set makes me so happy. It also makes me think of sock bunnies that made out of fabric. Which is why for this card I went with paper piecing. I started this card out by first stamping the bunnies on both the cardstock and the patterned paper. Then I brought out my stencil and created the scene. Then I fussy cut the patterned paper bunnies and glued them onto the card base.

Bunny Besties

This card was stamped using Impression Obsession's Sock Bunny stamp set.

To create this card, I started out by grabbing complementary scraps. Then I stamped on the card base. And then took my paper scraps and stamped on them. After that I fussy cut the bunnies. And then I stamped the bunnies heads on scraps and fussy cut those out. When the bunnies were done being paper pieced. I brought out my marker and traced along the shadow areas.

I love these bunnies because they remind me of the story of the Velveteen Rabbit. It was one of my favorite stories as a child. At the beginning of the story the rabbit is made of velveteen. But at the end he becomes real. It is a wonderful children's story filled with love, loss, and magic of love.
